Aeromedical Information

Current regulations require all pilots holding or wishing to hold a valid pilot licence to undergo initial and ongoing medical checks.

The medical requirements for a JAR pilot’s licence are contained in JAR-FCL 3 (Medical).  There are two standards of JAA medical certificate:

  • JAR Class 1 for a professional flying licence
  • JAR Class 2 for a private flying licence
Medical certificates can be obtained by undergoing a medical check in a JAR-Approved Aeromedical Centre (AMC).

The are three approved AMCs in Italy: in Rome, Milan and Bari. Further information may be found on by clicking on the links on the right hand side.

We offer a complimentary booking service for initial medical checks to our students.
