TRE-SFE Examiners

This course is intended for experienced pilots who wish to obtain, renew or extend to further type ratings: the Type Rating Examiner (A) and / or Synthetic Flight Examiner (A) certificate, in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) n. 1178/2011 and subsequent amendments. 

Examiners standardisation courses may be held by the Competent Authority issuing the candidate’s licence or by an ATO approved by this Authority. Aviomar is approved by the Irish Civil Authority (IAA) to hold these courses for Irish-licenced pilots. 

Possible approvals from other Authorities can be taken into consideration upon request. 

INITIAL STANDARDIZATION

The objective of this course is to train the candidate for him/her to obtain at the end of the course the required knowledge and competencies to manage the role of TRE (A) and/or SFE (A).

The standardisation course comprises theoretical and practical training.

REFRESHER SEMINAR

The objectives of the TRE/SFE Refresher Seminar are to review and update the knowledge and competencies of the TRE/SFE applicant who is wishing to renew or revalidate his/her certificate. 

Following successful completion of the seminar, the applicant must undergo an assessment of competence under the supervision of a Senior Examiner or a Flight Inspector nominated for this purpose by the Competent Authority. 

EXTENSION OF PRIVILEGES

This course aims to train the candidate so that he/she obtains the knowledge and competencies necessary to extend his/her valid TRE (A) or/and SFE (A) certificate to a further aircraft type.

The Extension Standardisation course requires practical training. 

COURSE FORMAT

All examiners' courses are structured and delivered with a balanced combination of interactive presentations, classroom discussions, briefings, and debriefings, as well as learning carrels. The course is designed to be interactive to enhance the trainees' learning experience and maximise the training benefit.

DURATION

Initial standardisation 

• 14 hours of classroom training
• 4 simulator check sessions under the supervision of an experienced TRE

Refresher Seminar

7 hours classroom or virtual instructor-led training

Extension Standardisation

1 simulator check sessions under the supervision of an experienced TRE
